Aaron Johnson’s Twelve Wives – April 2017 Lecture

Floyd Miner of the Springville Historical Society will present a lecture on April 26th on “The Twelve Wives of Aaron Johnson.” The lecture will be held on the lower level of the Springville Museum of Art at 7:00 pm and is open and free to the public.

Aaron Johnson was the leader of the first group of settlers to establish a community on the banks of Hobble Creek in the fall of 1850. Aaron was also the first LDS bishop of Springville.

Mr. Miner is a direct descendant of Aaron Johnson and has done comprehensive research into what history is available on Aaron’s twelve wives. It is a fascinating look at the history of Springville as there are several generations of descendants that still make up a significant portion of families in the community. Please join us for an entertaining and enlightening evening of historical insight.

As a side note, the evening also includes the opening the the SMA Spring Art Salon at 6:00 pm. You may want to come and enjoy the art on display and meet some of the artists prior to joining us downstairs for the lecture!
